Happy Valentine’s Day and welcome back to New Music Friday, where we curate a playlist of new releases that happened during the week. Jill Scott and Brent Faiyaz came back with full-length albums. CORTIS’s OST for the animated movie GOAT and the soundtrack of the film was released. Charli XCX’s music for anticipated romantic film Wuthering Heights released just in time for the day of love. Charli XCX Wuthering Heights
Charli XCX’s Wuthering Heights features collaborations with John Cale (“House”) and Sky Ferreira (“Eyes of the World”). The soundtrack accompanies the release of the film of the same name, starring Oscar-nominated actors Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.
Solya “Is This Love??”
Solya returns with the new single “Is This Love??”, a novel version of an old-time love song in time for Valentine’s Day. The track is from her forthcoming debut album Queen of Texas, scheduled to be released March 6.
Brent Faiyaz Icon
Brent Faiyaz shares his new LP Icon, executive produced by the great Raphael Saadiq.
alayna Set Her Free
New Zealand singer-songwriter alayna dropped her sophomore album Set Her Free February 13. “Tiny Spaces” is accompanied by a sunset-colored performance music video, as alayna feels this song is like the sunset of the album.
CORTIS “Mention Me”
CORTIS continues their momentum by contributing to Sony’s animated film GOAT soundtrack. “Mention Me” is a trap song driven throughout by a powerful bass sound. The members participated in writing the lyrics and producing the song.
Bleachers “you and forever”
Grammy award-winning producer Jack Antonoff-led band Bleachers released the single “you and forever.”
MUNA “Dancing on the Wall”
’80s synth pop “Dancing on the Wall” is the lead single of MUNA’s fourth album Dancing on the Wall, releasing May 8th.
WOODZ “CINEMA”
February 12th WOODZ released singles “CINEMA” and “BLOODLINE” ahead of his first full-length album Archive. 1, set to drop March 4.
